"Boat and guide were perfect but there were unexpected additional costs and time delays for taxis to Anacapri from the quieter marina and also additional costs for skylift. When all costs considered the day was very expensive when compared to just using passenger ferry. No mouth piece available so unable to snorkel although lots of fish present. Some fresh fruit and soft drink provided was a nice touch. Many thanks."

What Guests Say
"Enrico and MBS blu charter gave us an amazing day. It was more than expected! We swam in the water, went to the blue grotto and had time to go to AnaCapri for the chairlift. Enrico was very kind and excited about the tour, giving us lots of information. Absolutely beautiful highly recommend great value for the experience and way easier logistics than doing it on your own. I recommend going early. We took the 7:45 AM pick up and we were able to get to the blue grotto before it opens and got in within 10 minutes of arrival quite rare!"

"We had a great day. Best part for us was the tour around the island caves and the blue grotto. Our guide and driver Francisco and Raffaelle (sorry if spelt names incorrectly) were great. Entertaining and kept us well informed. We got unbelievably close to the caves credit to our driver. Capri is beautiful and a must is the chair lift, I’m scared of heights but felt safe. We were given opportunity to swim but no one in our group wished to do so and given some fruit and endless drinks (Alcohol and soft drinks) good value but Capri can be expensive when your get there so if you want food and to shop make sure you have plenty of money. That part didn’t bother us as the best part was view and the journey itself. Would recommend and possibly do again or maybe same charter different location."

"This was an absolutely incredible experience and one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide, Agata, and our captain, Vincent, were fantastic from start to finish. They truly went above and beyond to make the day special. Not only did they take us to all the must-see spots like the Blue Grotto, but they also included additional sites that weren’t even on the standard itinerary — places that not everyone gets to see, which made the experience feel very unique and personalized. They were generous with our time as well, giving us more than the scheduled 3 hours in Capri, which allowed us to relax and enjoy everything without feeling rushed. A special shoutout as well to the Blue Line bus coordinator in Capri, who did an excellent job keeping the group organized and made everything run smoothly and stress-free. Agata was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, and Vincent navigated everything smoothly and safely. Together, they made an amazing team!"
"Our guide Lucio and skipper Sylvester were wonderful. Both full of fun. We were able to visit the Blue Grotto, it's kind of chaotic and expensive - for the entry fee and the requested tip - but it is stunning once inside. We then had ~3 hours on Capri. It's early in the season but the public buses were crammed. We visited Capri and Ana Capri - would suggest heading straight to Ana Capri for the cable car, otherwise time is tight. With hindsight we'd have gone back to Marina Piccola sooner and dipped our feet rather than adding to the crowds. Sailed to a swimming spot, the water is clear and blue. Generous drinks provided and fresh fruit. A fabulous day, lots of stories from Lucio and recommendations of what to do. Thoroughly enjoyed it, highly recommend."
"Our Capri tour was nothing short but impeccable! Our tour guide Lucio was amazing, he was so welcoming, funny, and made our experience unforgettable! Sadly the blue grotto wasn’t open due to the tide, but Lucio gave us an additional hour on the island of Capri which was so nice of him to do! He made sure our group got the full Capri experience, with making stops at every location on the boat and explaining its significance. If you’re considering booking this tour, don’t think twice, do it!! 10/10 recommend!"

"Alessandro was an amazing boat captain! He sang Andrea Bocelli and entertained the whole time while driving the boat. The weather was a bit overcast but we still had an amazing day. Make sure you do the chairlift in Anacapri and walk around the gardens for the best views! Highly recommend this boat tour if you’re heading to Capri. Probably one of our favorite days this trip so far!!"

"The blue grotto was stunning. Definite must see. The authentic boats and guides who sing as they row is enchanting"
"We had a wonderful day. The weather was bad but the team (Alessandro and Vincenzo) made it still very enjoyable and went out of their way to still do and see as much as possible. Lovely staff, lovely boat and loved the fruit salad and prosecco on way home! Would highly recommend."
"It was so much fun!! Luigi was an excellent captain and our tour guide was super helpful and friendly. The boat was clean and well maintained, super family friendly, and very well priced for what all was included. 100% recommend!"

"Wha a beautiful island. The guide and captain were amazing and personable. Rough waters made it difficult and we couldn’t visit blue grotto, but the captain made sure we had a good time!! Definitely recommended!"

"Amazing experience the captain Vittorio and his first officer were the best of the best. They were kind, helpful and very open to any of our requests. The itinerary was accurate from the beginning until the end. No debts! Dont think twice, these guys are the best ones"
"This activity was amazing. Our boat crew consisting of Enrico and Vittorio were amazing they made sure everyone was comfortable the whole ride and ensured we had towels if we did get a little soaked. During the boat ride the made sure to tell us about some facts about sorrento and capri. When we got to capri they guided us inland and showed us how to get to the center of capri. I would highly recommend this tour and don’t hesitate to book it both guides were professional, organized and funny!"

"We had a great time on the boat ride to and from Capri. Our tour guides were awesome. They were very engaging and entertaining. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we did not get to go to the Blue Grotto because it was closed. Highly recommend this activity."
"We took a tour to Capri and the Blue Grotto with Flavio, and it was absolutely incredible! He was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had — full of energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for what he does. Flavio made the entire experience so much fun and engaging from start to finish. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. I 1000% recommend taking a tour with Flavio — he truly made our day in Capri unforgettable!"
"It was fun to have that kind of experience it was nice meeting all the group and the tour guides who gave a lot of information of the trip."

Everything you need to know before visiting Capri's most iconic sea cave.
The Blue Grotto is a natural sea cave illuminated by ethereal turquoise light caused by sunlight entering through an underwater opening. It's one of the world's most photographed natural attractions and a bucket-list destination. Still deciding? Read our honest take on whether the Blue Grotto is worth visiting before you book.
You take a large boat to the cave entrance, then transfer to a small rowboat (around €18, paid at the cave). The rowboat operator rows you inside and narrates the experience. The transfer takes ~5 minutes. Our step-by-step guide to what to expect at the Blue Grotto walks through the handover, the fee, and the cave entry.
The small rowboat requires ducking under the cave entrance (about 1.5 meters high). Older adults, pregnant women, and people with mobility issues may find this difficult. Ask your operator about alternatives if concerned.
About 10–15 minutes inside the cave. The rowboat spends time letting you look around, take photos, and swim if conditions allow. Total experience (boat + cave) is 30–45 minutes.
No. The cave closes when sea conditions are rough (typically November–March or during storms). If the cave is closed, your tour visits other parts of Capri instead. Tours with 'weather guarantee' offer rescheduling or refunds. See our guide on when to go to the Blue Grotto for the best months and odds of an open cave.
Early morning (7–9 AM) has the best light and fewest crowds. Midday (11 AM–3 PM) gets very crowded in summer. Late afternoon (4–5 PM) light quality decreases. For month-by-month timing, read our Blue Grotto when-to-go guide, and to choose your launch point see visiting the Blue Grotto from Naples or Sorrento.
Yes, photos are allowed. The blue glow is dramatic and photogenic. Bring a waterproof phone case; water spray from the rowboat is common.
Swimming is not officially allowed inside the cave due to safety rules. But you can swim in the waters outside the cave entrance. Some operators quietly allow brief swims inside — ask discreetly.
Yes, children 4+ usually enjoy it. The rowboat is steady and safe. Life jackets are provided. Younger children might fear the cave entrance or the dark; use your judgment.
Sunlight enters the cave through an underwater opening at sea level. The light reflects off white limestone and bounces through the water, creating an intense turquoise glow. The smaller the cave entrance relative to sunlight, the more saturated the blue.
